1/14/2009 - AST Case #09-3886 Residential Burglary

On 1-14-09, at about 1900 hours, Alaska State Troopers investigated a burglary that occurred from an apartment off of Quiet Circle in Wasilla.  An investigation revealed that a 32" television estimated at $800.00 was stolen.

1/8/2009 - WPD Case #09-45 Bomb Threat at Wasilla High School

On 1/8/09 at approximately 0730 hours, Wasilla High School received an electronic transmission of a bomb threat. School administration immediately initiated a "lock down" and contacted the Wasilla Police Department. In addition to police, members from the bomb squads at both Elmendorf AFB and the Anchorage Police Department responded, along with members of the Joint Terrorism Task Force and the US Marshall Service.

 

The school was eventually evacuated and a visual search of the school was made along with K-9`s trained to detect explosives. The thorough search of the school resulted in no explosives or devices being located. Investigation into the threat is continuing.

12/15/2008 - AST Case #08-103059 Robbery, Burglary, Theft, Assault

On 12/15/2008, approx. 0340 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to a residence on Kuoppalla Drive in Sutton for a reported assault. Investigation revealed unknown suspect(s) gained entry to the residence, assaulted the home owner while he slept, and stole medications and electronic equipment valued at approx. $2,000.00.  The home owner was transported by EMS for medical treatment.

12/15/2008 - WPD Case #08-2035 Wasilla Bible Church Fire

On December 12, 2008, at approximately 2150 hours, Wasilla Police responded to Wasilla Bible Church after a report of a possible structure fire.  Central Fire Department found the origin of the fire to be suspicious and contacted law enforcement.  The state Fire Marshal, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), Wasilla Police Department and the Scientific Crime Detection Lab responded to the scene to conduct an investigation. At this time, no specific leads or suspects have been developed and the investigation continues.

12/14/2008 - AST Case #08-102849 Criminal Mischief IV, Burglary I, Assault IV

On 12/14/08 at approximately 0250 hours, Alaska State Troopers
responded to a report of an assault inside an apartment complex on Elsinore Way in Wasilla.  Investigation revealed two unidentified males entered the locked apartment by kicking in the door.  One of the males assaulted a 24 year old male inside the residence.  The two suspects fled the area on foot and were not located.  The male victim suffered minor injuries and denied medical attention and damage to the apartment is estimated at $200.  Investigation continues.

12/14/2008 - AST Case #08-102930 Burglary II, Theft II, Criminal Mischief IV

On 12/14/08, at approximately 1340 hours, Alaska State Troopers
responded to a residence on S. Harriette St. in Wasilla for a reported burglary.  Thomas G. Winter, age 56, of Wasilla, reported power tools, sockets, a Honda generator, a Husqvarna chainsaw, and an electric cement mixer were missing from a storage shed.  Investigation revealed that a side door was kicked in to gain access to the building.  The items were stolen sometime between 0400 hours on 12/5/08 and 0930 hours on 12/14/08.  The estimated value of the items is $1,500.00.  The damage to the door and frame is estimated at $100.00.

12/13/2008 - AST Case #08-102656 Burglary I, Theft II

On 12-13-08 at approximately 1237 hours, AST received a report of a stolen 32" Protron HD television, pots, pans and 3 fishing poles from a residence on N. Kouappala in Sutton.  Investigation revealed that the items were taken on 12/12/08 between 1000 hours and 2030 hours.
